We were delighted to host Comedian Ben Kronberg on this episode of Around the World with The He & She Show. He shares travel lessons, tips and tricks he has discovered while traveling for a gig or even vacation (which he doesn’t take anymore without doing comedy).

You may have seen Ben Kronberg on his Comedy Central Special, as a regular on At Midnight, and has performed stand up on all of the National US Late Night shows. He describes himself as an exploiter of creativity.

 

Travel according to Ben Kronberg

In this episode of the podcast, Ben stresses out the point of traveling light. He only takes a backpack with him. He says it's the most functional, mobile and convenient thing especially if you are at staying or crashing in multiple locations.. He says that when you’re traveling, travel with the essential items that will likely be used once, like more underwear and socks. Ben also has stopped traveling with a laptop and prefers to use iPad mini because it creates more space in his backpack.

He prefers to travel on Tuesdays to other days because it’s a lighter travel day, so much so, that airlines lowest prices and the airport is not as busy as days like Monday and Friday.

He emphases to travel in advance in order to prevent inconveniences caused like flight canceling, weather and things of the sort that can cause you to miss your event. He says it reduces stress especially for people traveling for work, gigs, and shows. He tells a story about how this affected him.

   1) What is your favorite place you have traveled to?

South Korea because it is culturally different, big city and more people walking around. There are different places even while taking a train to the station there are different food options and even McDonald’s is different.

    2) What is the least favorite place you have traveled to?

Miami because of the vibe, but everything else like the hotels are nice

    3) Where do you want to go?

Australia because of comedy. Edinburgh for the Fringe Festival, and Alaska

    4) What is the scariest thing that happened to you when you traveled?

Ben tells a couple of stories, one has to do with K2 cigarettes

    5) What is something you don’t travel without?

BEN’S TRAVEL TRICKS AND TIPS

• Travel light. He still prefers the backpack over suitcases because they are more convenient and functional for a mobile traveler. [Amazon Affiliate]

• Drink all the water in your water bottle before you go through security,  and refill for less than buying a new bottle [Amazon Affiliate]

• For those taking long flights and late flights, always sit at the window so as you can sleep easier while sleeping without being disturbed

• Don’t ever sit at the very back seats of the airplane near the lavatory. People will be touching you whether their hands are washed or not, even sprinkling water on you.
